Band achieve 3rd place at West Midlands contest
Enterprise Band achieve 2nd place at Loughborough contest
Nearing the end of the 2011 Contest Season, the band made the 90 minute journey to compete in the relocated West Midlands Brass Band
Association contest at Pershore near Worcester. After scheduled stop to rehearse at Hinckley the band proceeded to
Pershore High School for the contest. Having chosen a lively and tuneful modern piece composed by Oliver Waespi the band obviously
enjiyed rehearsing and playing the music achieving 3rd place from a strong field of bands. Leicestershire was well represented amongst
the prize winners with Enderby and Oddfellows taking the first and second prize. Garry Sleath was pleased with the result commenting
that althpough we will be competing in section 2 next year we were still able to compete with good first section bands.
The Enterprise Band rounded off the contest seaon with a well deserved second place in the unregistered section at the Leicestershire
Brass Band Association contest at Loughborough. Well done to all players who took the stage for that contest.
